Nicole LeNeave (right, pictured with Institute for the Study of the Americas Director Lou Pérez) is a Ph.D. candidate, Department of History, at The University of California, San Diego. She is studying the cultural history of the Cold War in Latin America; specifically, looking at insurgency and rebellion through a music and art lens.


Kristina Caltabiano is a former Peace Corps Volunteer, FLAS recipient, and member of the Guanajuato class of 2017.

Since 2007, 70% of graduated alumni have gone on to pursue careers in fields that directly work with immigrants. These students are very competitive in a state and region with great need for a bilingual workforce with these skills: in fact 97% of our alumni find jobs or enter graduate school within one year of graduating.
