Dr. Nguyen Shares Research on Immigrant Growth

Dr. Mai Thi Nguyen, an advocate and partner of Building Integrated Communities, is the Director of the Housing and Community Development Specialization. She shared her research on two different ways that NC communities have responded to rapid immigration growth: increased local immigration enforcement vs. immigrant integration. She also shared insights on the roles planners can play in immigrant integration.

Dr. Mai Thi Nguyen is the Director of the Housing and Community Development Specialization. Her research focuses on social and spatial inequality, urban growth phenomena and governance, the relationship between the built and social environments, and socially vulnerable populations.
