Natalie Teague, Latin American Studies ’04, is featured on The State of Things. Teague and bilingual immigration attorney, Evelyn Smallwood, speak with Frank Stasio about their experiences providing pro bono services to women and children being held at a detention center in Artesia, New Mexico. Most of the women and children are fleeing violence in their home countries but are facing legal barriers.

Teague is the owner and founding attorney at Teague Immigration Law Office in Asheville, NC. She is spending Oct. 18-25 in Artesia, New Mexico with three other North Carolina-based bilingual immigration attorneys. The team is providing pro bono legal services to women and children and documenting their experiences on the blog, Destination Due Process.
